Cambridge, UK - 2nd July 2026 – Qkine, Ltd. today announced it has officially joined the Organoid COMMONS. As a member of this industry-first consortium, Qkine will collaborate with fellow pioneers to establish the manufacturing standards and standardized frameworks necessary to accelerate the adoption of organoid technologies in drug discovery and clinical research.
The Organoid COMMONS was established to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application. By bringing together diverse stakeholders across the biotechnology ecosystem, the consortium aims to refine New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and provide high-quality, reproducible human-relevant models that reduce the industry’s reliance on animal testing.
Qkine brings its expertise in animal-free recombinant protein manufacturing and innovation to the consortium. Their technology addresses current industry bottlenecks including a lack of high quality, scalable, animal-free proteins and lot-to-lot variability, ensuring that organoid models are more accessible and scalable for researchers and drug developers.
“Joining the Organoid COMMONS aligns perfectly with our mission to reduce variability and increase scientific quality and clinical relevance in new approach methodologies (NAMs)” said Liz Stewart, Senior Product Manager. “We look forward to working alongside the consortium's members to define the benchmarks that will drive the next generation of human-centric medicine.”
Through this membership, Qkine will contribute to a shared repository of knowledge and resources that benefit the entire life sciences and pharmaceutical communities.
