Commercial

Digital Marketing Lead

Location: Newmarket Road, Cambridge, UK or remote with monthly attendance at HQ
Full-time (or at least 4 days per week)
Onsite, hybrid or remote working is available. Please note, remote working will require regular presence in our office each month.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our marketing team to lead the development and implementation of our digital marketing strategy and automation and to build and manage a new digital team. You will use existing marketing automation technologies and identify new technologies to support the commercial objectives. You will work with scientific colleagues to create and tailor technical communications.

You will plan and develop digital marketing omnichannel strategies, in conjunction with the overarching marketing strategy, targeted at specific scientific audiences in industry and academia, the primary geographic focus is the US and Europe. You will be responsible for developing and deploying automated marketing campaigns, primarily focused on web, LinkedIn and email marketing, ensuring optimisation, monitoring campaign performance, and continuously iterating our approach to improve digital marketing strategies. You will be interested in new digital technologies and always looking for ways to improve efficiencies or processes by testing, implementing, or creating custom tools.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the CEO and Commercial Director to develop a digital strategy that drives the business’s strategic goals and to provide professional insight across all stages of the customer journey and integrate automated customer profiling and lead generation.
  • Lead email marketing automation and improve the conversion rate from prospects into leads using Spotler marketing automation, working with specialist partners where required.
  • Lead our use of relevant social media platforms (primarily LinkedIn and X) and optimise our content for these platforms.
  • Work with colleagues to assess all other digital channels, such as social media and web insights, to deploy further connectivity, profiling, and automation.
  • Conduct analysis of digital campaigns and report results and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Guide colleagues on the testing methods available and, based on the data, how to choose which outcome will be in the customer’s best interest.
  • Manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate and ensure alignment with sales, technical and operational colleagues.
  • Understand GDPR and PECR regulations and their application in email marketing compliance. Ensure all activities are compliant and fully documented.
  • Ensure customer focus and commercial outcomes are at the heart of all campaign activity – and positively challenging where appropriate.
  • Interact with the wider marketing team to plan, deliver integrated marketing activity and share learnings.
  • Use data management skills to assist in segmentation, reporting and optimisation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

Skills and experiences that will help you in the role:

  • Advanced experience working with and testing marketing automation systems such as Spotler, Marketo, Hubspot, Pardot or similar.
  • Experience working with a major CRM system such as Zoho, Salesforce or Dynamics, and how to integrate the CRM with a marketing automation platform.
  • Significant experience in B2B email marketing, including creation of workflows with continuous testing and optimization, to ensure prospects move through the sales journey to leads, conversion and repeat orders.
  • Extensive awareness of SEO, SEM, PPC and cross-platform engagement and communication
  • In-depth understanding of digital customer acquisition, re-engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Proficiency and excellent data management skills to assist in segmentation and reporting. You will be data-driven with proven experience in analysing metrics and course-correcting if required.
  • High-level understanding of automating and connecting other digital marketing channels such as social media and web insights.
  • Inquisitive nature to drive continuous improvement within the digital marketing team and beyond.
  • Great team attitude where you are happy to implement as well as develop.
  • Interest or understanding in programming, technical website UX and social media would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of leading a team is highly advantageous.

Distributor and E-marketplace Manager

We combine proprietary production processes with protein engineering technology to tackle fundamental biological and scale-up challenges for the fast-growing stem cell, organoid, regenerative medicine, and cultured meat sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our commercial team, driving the development of our distribution network to support our rapid growth. You will be responsible for expanding, managing and optimising our global distribution network and enhancing our presence on e-marketplaces. This role is crucial in driving sales growth, building brand awareness and ensuring our distributors are fully trained and aligned with Qkine’s objectives.
You will ideally have a scientific background and a good understanding of academic, biotech and pharma buying trends, internationally and in particular the US.

Main responsibilities will include:
Distributor Management:

  • Achieve sales targets through effective distributor management and support.
  • Global network management, proactively managing and developing our network to optimise market reach and performance.
  • Foster mutual growth and cooperation with distributors through engagement and relationship management.
  • Work closely with distributors to build brand awareness and develop marketing and event strategies that align with Qkine’s goals
  • Ensure distributors receive comprehensive training on Qkine products and sales strategies to effectively represent and promote our brand and products.
  • Monitor the financial performance of distributors and provide feedback and strategies for improvement

E-marketplace Management:

  •  Manage and expand the presence on e-marketplaces, primarily in the US and UK markets.
  • Create, optimise, and maintain product listings to enhance visibility and sales.
  • Develop and deliver promotional campaigns to drive traffic and sales on e-marketplaces.
  • Monitor the performance of e-marketplace performance, providing insights and recommendations informed by data analysis.
  • Ensure all e-marketplace activities comply with respective policies and standards.

Skills and experiences that will help you in the role:

  • At least three years of experience in a Distributor Manager or related role
  • Life sciences tools experience and market awareness.
  • Ideally, a scientific background and a good understanding of academic, biotech and pharma buying trends, internationally and particularly the US.
  • The ability to travel for work periodically, including internationally.
