Commercial

Junior Marketing Coordinator

Location: Murdoch House, Garlic Row, Cambridge, UK

Full time or a minimum of 4 full days, or 5 shorter days per week.
Primarily office-based with the potential to work 20% from home

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Junior Marketing Coordinator who will assist our rapidly growing marketing team. The role will report directly to the Head of Marketing but will work closely with all members of our established marketing team. This role will have the opportunity to undertake a degree-level apprenticeship whilst progressing within the company.

The role will include:

  • Helping coordinate events and assisting the team with all related activities including sourcing and preparing giveaways, packing for events, and managing event materials and collateral.
  • Assist at events when required. Some evenings and/or travel may be required for this role.
  • Coordination of the company social media calendar. This will include liaising with all stakeholders, scheduling content, monitoring, and reporting across the company social media channels.
  • Working closely with the graphic designer to learn basic editing using Adobe suite and to learn about professional printing.
  • Working closely with the Head of Marketing to learn basic branding principles and to help maintain a strong and cohesive brand.

This role would suit someone looking to start or transition their career in marketing. The role will also include enrollment in a digital marketing apprenticeship if the candidate would like to.

Your skills and experience:

  • No previous marketing experience is required, full training will be provided
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills as evidenced by GCSE (grade 5+ or equivalent) or A-level results
  • Keen attention to detail and great organizational skills
  • Can multi-task and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Must have an interest in social media / digital marketing
  • Be driven to seek out new skills and opportunities whilst having an eagerness to learn
  • Be someone who enjoys contributing to the success of a team

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for providing administrative assistance to both the Head of Finance and the Quality Manager. You will have excellent attention to detail, be able to handle multiple tasks with a calm and professional attitude and be able to communicate effectively across all teams in the company.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Processing sales and purchase invoices
  • Debtor chasing
  • Preparing product documentation
  • Quality system management support
  • Maintaining training records
  • Keeping confidential records and financial information private and secure.

This role requires:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent MS Office skills – Intermediate Level (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A methodical approach to work
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

Senior Bioassay Scientist

This has enabled us to attract a loyal customer following from both leading biotechnology companies and world-class academic institutions.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Bioassay Scientist to join our busy R&D team within our newly refurbished headquarters in Cambridge. You will hold a PhD or possess equivalent experience in biochemistry, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline. Previous experience working in the Biotech industry would be highly desirable. Practical knowledge of developing cell-based assays (e.g., cell proliferation assays, luminescent reporter assays) is essential for this position. Experience of testing growth factor bioactivity and hitting continuous development targets would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will work independently to set targets and plan work, have great attention to detail, good communication skills and a flexible approach. We are looking for proactive team players with a broad range of skills and definite can-do attitude.

You will have or will be:

  • Proficient in cell-based assay development.
  • Hands on experience of maintaining mammalian cell lines.
  • Experience following and writing SOPs.
  • Knowledge of an ELN platform and accurate data collection and presentation.
  • Experience working with a QMS such as ISO9001: 2015 or ISO13485 would be an advantage.
