Recombinant tuna FGF-2 protein 154 aa (bFGF/basic FGF) has been produced for the development of optimized serum-free culture media for species-specific yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) in cellular agriculture protocols and veterinary research applications.
Qkine tuna FGF-2 (154 aa) protein (Qk105) is highly bioactive, animal origin-free, carrier protein-free and tag-free to ensure high and consistent bioactivity.
Qkine FGF-2 (154 aa) bioactivity
- Qkine tuna FGF-2 154 aa was bioactive in a quantitative luciferase assay with an EC50 of 0.96 ng/ml.
- This was equivalent to Qkine human FGF-2 154 aa, which had an EC50 of 0.98 ng/ml.
Recombinant tuna FGF-2 154 aa bioactivity was equivalent to human FGF-2 154 aa. Bioactivity was determined using the Promega serum response element luciferase reporter assay in transfected HEK293T cells. Cells were treated in triplicate with a serial dilution of tuna FGF-2 (green) or human FGF-2 (black) for 3 hours. Firefly luciferase activity was measured and normalized to the control Renilla luciferase activity.
