Technote | R-spondin 1 (Qk006)
Recombinant R-spondin 1 (Qk006) has equivalent bioactivity to an alternative supplier protein
Human R-spondin 1 protein (RSPO1) is the prototypic member of the R-spondin family. R-spondin 1 is used to potentiate Wnt signaling in many organoid culture systems.
Qkine R-spondin 1 is animal origin-free (AOF), carrier protein-free, and tag-free to ensure its purity with exceptional lot-to-lot consistency.
Qkine R-spondin 1 bioactivity
- Qkine R-spondin 1 (Qk006) was bioactive in a quantitative assay with an EC50 of 6.3 nM.
- This was comparable to the bioactivity of R-spondin 1 from an alternative supplier, which had an EC50 of 11.3 nM.

Qkine R-spondin 1 bioactivity was comparable to an alternative supplier R-spondin 1. Bioactivity was determined using the Wnt-responsive TOPFlash reporter assay as R-spondin 1 enhances Wnt/ß-catenin signaling in HEK239T cells. HEK293T cells transfected with TOPFlash reporter are treated in triplicate with increasing concentration of Qkine R-spondin 1 (Qk006, green) or alternative R-spondin 1 (Supplier B, black), in the presence of Wnt-conditioned media (1:8 dilution). After an overnight incubation, luciferase activity is measured and normalized.
Qkine recombinant proteins have the advantage of being highly pure and animal origin-free, giving lot-to-lot consistency in bioactivity for long-term reproducible culture of stem cells and organoids.
All our recombinant proteins are animal-free and come with Bioactivity. Guaranteed.
