Colony-stimulating factors (CSFs) for stem cell culture

Colony-stimulating factors family, also known as hematopoietic growth factors, include granulocyte-macrophage-CSF (GM-CSF), macrophage colony formation CSF (M-CSF), granulocyte-CSF (G-CSF), and multi-CSF, which is also referred to as interleukin-3 (IL-3). These CSFs serve various functions such as promoting cell proliferation, facilitating cell maturation, and encouraging cell differentiation.

Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is involved in the differentiation and activation of monocytes such as macrophages and dendritic cells, and granulocytes such as neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. Macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) is a cytokine that regulates the survival, proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation of monocytes, such as macrophages and dendritic cells. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) plays a crucial role in the proliferation, differentiation, and maturation of committed progenitor cells to granulocytes, such as neutrophils. Interleukin-3 (IL-3) plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis and acts as a multi-lineage growth factor.
