Qkine Interleukin 4 (IL-4) is as biologically active as a comparable alternative supplier protein
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine that is secreted primarily by mast cells, T-cells, eosinophils, and basophils. IL-4 plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis, the regulation of antibody production, the stimulation of activated B cell and T cell proliferation, and the differentiation of B cells into plasma cells.
Qkine IL-4 (Qk092) manufacture has been optimized to produce a highly bioactive protein which is animal origin-free, carrier protein-free and tag-free.
Qkine IL-4 bioactivity
- Qkine IL-4 (Qk092) was bioactive in a quantitative assay with an EC50 of 225 pg/ml.
- This was comparable to bioactivity of IL-4 from an alternative supplier, which had an EC50 of 180 pg/ml.
Qkine IL-4 was as bioactive as IL-4 from an alternative supplier. Recombinant IL-4 activity was determined using using proliferation of TF-1 human myeloid leukemia cells. Cells were treated in triplicate with a serial dilution of Qkine IL-4 (Qk092, green) or Peprotech IL-4 (200-04, supplier B, black) for 72 hours. Protein concentrations were measured before use (Peprotech vial recovery 105%, Qkine 101%). Cell viability was measured using the CellTiter-Glo (Promega) luminescence assay. Data from Qk092 lot #204588.
Qkine recombinant proteins have the advantage of being highly pure and animal origin-free, giving lot-to-lot consistency in bioactivity for long-term reproducible culture of stem cells and organoids.
