Qkine Stem Cell Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program designed for students planning to pursue higher education in the field of life sciences, and specifically working with stem cell culture. The scholarship program is applicable to universities across the world. The scholarship aims at providing an opportunity to outstanding students to receive certain financial assistance.

  • Qkine Stem Cell scholarship is awarded on a merit basis to exceptionally talented students

  • The scholarship is valid for students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any life sciences subject but it must contain an element of stem cell culture or regenerative medicine

  • Qkine Science Scholarship recipients get a one-time payment of 2000 USD for the payment of their tuition fees.

  • Along with a scholarship application form, applicants have to also submit an original 1000+ word article/essay on a stem-cell-related topic.

The scholarship is offered by Qkine which is a manufacturer that specializes in innovative, highly bioactive, animal-free recombinant proteins for stem cell and organoid cultures.

How to apply?

1. Check you are eligible

While there are no restrictions in terms of nationality, there are a few requirements that students need to fulfill for Qkine Stem Cell Scholarship:

  • Secure admission in a UG or PG degree program in the field of life science where the course has an element of stem cell culture.
  • Only applicable for the life science field with a ‘wet-lab’ component that is bench-based research and includes culturing stem cells.
  • Students pursuing medicine, veterinary and pharmacy are not eligible for this scholarship
2. Submitting your application

Fill in the form and in addition to the form, applicants must submit the following documents :

  • CV or resume
  • Proof of identity
  • Written documents of confirmation for Admission or acceptance from a recognized university in a life sciences-related degree program which includes / covers stem cell research
  • UG program transcripts, certificates (for graduate students)
  • High school transcripts (undergraduate students)
  • Original Essay or article in 1000+ words on topical stem cell related subject (e.g. “ The future of stem cell-derived organoids on drug discovery”.)

Selection process

The Qkine Stem Cell Scholarship will be completed by an internal committee. The selection process is based on 2 evaluating factors which are equally weighted:

  • Academic Performance and Achievements: The applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic potential in the field of stem cell science or regenerative medicine to gain the benefit of the scholarship.
  • Essay/Research paper: Students must ensure that the paper they are submitting is original and not plagiarised. Furthermore, it should convey their in-depth understanding of stem cell research.

Terms and conditions

This scholarship offer may be withdrawn or terminated at any time without notice.
The scholarship amount of 2000 USD will be disbursed as a one-time payment directly to the recipient to cover tuition fees.
By submitting the essay, applicants grant the scholarship provider the right to use, reproduce, and distribute the essay for promotional purposes, using the recipients name and country of entry.
Personal information provided during the application process will be handled in accordance with privacy laws and used solely for scholarship purposes. Please review our privacy notice before applying.
Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
The decision of the internal committee is final, and no appeals will be allowed.
