Research Assistant

Qkine is looking for a motivated individual to help our scientists to produce growth factors and develop next generation protein tools for regenerative medicine and stem cell applications. In addition, the post holder will be expected to help with the general running of the laboratory, ordering, shipping and communicating with customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up that has recently spun-out from the Biochemistry Department, Cambridge University.

The candidate is expected to hold a degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related scientific discipline and must have experience in working in a biochemistry laboratory. Experience in molecular cloning and producing and purifying proteins would be an advantage.

The candidate must be able to work independently to set targets and plan work, have great attention to detail, good communication skills and a flexible approach. As a start-up, we are looking for proactive team players with a broad range of skills and definite can-do attitude.

Protein Scientist/Biochemist

Qkine is looking for a talented protein scientist to produce growth factors and develop next generation protein tools for regenerative medicine and stem cell applications.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up that has recently spun-out from the Biochemistry Department, Cambridge University.

Candidates are expected to hold a degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related scientific discipline and must have a strong track record of research achievements or experience in the biotech industry. Extensive experience in producing and purifying proteins and analysing their quality and bioactivity is essential.

Expertise in cell-based activity assays, molecular cloning, AKTA chromatography systems, protein refolding and working with disulphide rich proteins would be a definite advantage.  Experience in working with stem cells or knowledge of protein engineering is desirable.
